Terms and conditions GPS rental
The following are the terms and conditions that apply to the rental of GPS equipment from GPS4Rent.com. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before placing your order with us. We or us represents GPS4Rent, and/or its corporate parent; you or your refers to the GPS renter / customer.
(1) RENTAL START DATE:
The starting date of your rental will be the date you requested via GPS4Rent.com. For example, if you selected the 23rd of February as the first day the GPS unit is needed, then that would be the first day of your rental period. We will deliver your unit to you at least one day before your requested trip date. Even though the unit will be delivered at least one day before your trip, the rental start date is still the date the unit was requested (February 23rd in the example used above).
(2) RENTAL LENGTH:
Rental period will vary from customer to customer, based on the individual’s need. The rental date starts on the date you requested as the first day you will need the rental. If your start date was February 23rd, for example, and you selected a 3 day rental period, your last day of rental would be the 25th and you would be required to send the unit back with proof of shipment to GPS4Rent.com on the 26th of February.
(3) DROP OFF DATE:
The drop off date is the date that you must send the unit back to GPS4Rent.com to prevent accrued late fees. If your start date was February 23rd, for example, and you selected a 3 day rental period, your drop off date would be the 26th of February. You must return the unit in the same proper working condition as received and all accessories and documents must be included. Safely pack the contents back into the box, seal the box, attach the return shipping label in the same box that we provided you when the unit was delivered to you, and drop it off at a local UPS store or a UPS authorized shipping center. It is essential to get a receipt stating the drop off at the UPS store or authorized shipping center for proof of delivery
(4) LATE FEE CHARGES:
Failure to deliver the GPS unit for return shipment by your required Drop off Date will result in a late fee charge of $29.95 per day. Fee per day late- $29.95
(5) SECURITY DEPOST:
There will be a pre-authorization charge to your credit card during your rental term. This authorization will not show up as a charge on your account nor will it affect your credit card balance. The authorization charge is to cover GPS4Rent.com against loss, damages or theft to our GPS units. Customer is responsible to inspect unit and accessories upon arrival, if items are missing or unit is defective customer must contact GPS4rent.com immediately. If the unit is returned on time and in the same condition as it was received, including all accessories, the deposit authorization will be released. If the unit is damaged or returned late, the appropriate fees will be charged to the authorized account. You are responsible for the unit up to the full replacement value of the GPS system if it is lost or stolen or repair costs if it is damaged.
(6) DISINFECTING UNITS:
All rental units will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to being shipped out for rental. Please do not attempt to clean the unit as some chemicals or moisture may damage the GPS rental unit display and internal components.
(7) DAMAGES:
Our GPS rental rate assumes normal wear and tear, which may occur with a rental use. However, scratches, cracks, dents or missing parts that are noticed upon return will result in charges against your security deposit (Pre-Authorization credit card). DO NOT use pens or any sharp objects on touch screen as they will cause damage to the unit and renter will be required to pay for damages.
(8) LOSS/THEFT/NON-RETURN:
You are 100% responsible for the rental GPS system at all times between the time of delivery to you and return to our facility. We do not provide any insurance against loss or theft once the unit has been confirmed that it was delivered to your address. We will charge you for the total amount of the deposit if the GPS unit is not returned to us after 7 days from the date it is due back to us.
(9) SHIPPING:
GPS4rent.com only uses UPS 3-day air for shipping rental units to our customers. (No deliveries will be made on Saturdays or Sundays) We use UPS 3-day air to ensure you get your unit before your trip and this mail system guarantees that it will be delivered in 3 days. You, the customer, will pay for the shipping to your location and also pay for shipping the rental unit back to us. All shipping charges are clearly stated in the GPS rental shopping cart stage of the site. A prepaid return shipping label will be included in the box along with the GPS unit that is delivered to you. You may use the same box to pack and return the GPS unit back to us. After inspecting the rental GPS for proper operation, simply reseal the box, attach the label, and drop off the unit at a UPS store or authorized UPS shipping center. It is essential that you obtain a receipt providing proof of drop off from the UPS facility for your records.
Refused deliveries will be considered as a completed rental transaction. You, the renter, will be required to pay for the full rental fee as agreed upon through GPS4Rent and you must agree to forfeit the right to dispute the charges.
While we use guaranteed UPS 3-day air to ship out our rental units, we cannot control the weather or natural disasters. There is always a possibility of shipping delays with UPS from unexpected weather conditions, earthquakes, etc., which neither UPS nor GPS4Rent.com can be held responsible for. If the unit is not delivered on time as agreed by us, you have the right to ship the unit back to us immediately and we will not charge you for the rental agreement cost.
(10) SALES/USE TAXES:
A GPS rental unit shipped to California or Florida addresses will be subject to state sales tax. Sales tax is clearly stated at the GPS rental shopping cart prior to checkout at GPS4Rent.com.

Florida Sales tax rate 7.00%
(11) LIABILITY:
You must recognize that using a GPS system while driving could cause you to have an accident. Understanding this, we recommend that you stop your vehicle whenever you are programming your rental GPS unit and not to use the system input while you are driving. However, an alternative solution to this would be to have a passenger input the information. We are not responsible for any accidents that may arise from your activity or use of our GPS unit, and you hereby agree to exonerate us from any claims, charges or costs arising from your use of our GPS system or any related activities.
While we will provide you a GPS navigational system as described in our product descriptions, we do not guarantee or warrant the unit for any specific performance or purpose other than as it is described. If the GPS system malfunctions or otherwise fails to perform its described functions, our maximum liability to you is the rental value that you paid for the item.
(12) RESERVATION REQUIREMENTS:
Your order should be placed as far in advance possible from your Start Date to ensure availability and best selection of GPS models. The minimum number of days required to place an order is 3 business days before date of need (Start Date). In the event that the model you requested is not in stock, a GPS4Rent.com specialist will contact you to discuss sending a similar model instead.
(13) CANCELLATIONS:
In the event you would like to cancel your reservation, you may do so without any financial penalty as long as it is not less than two weeks from your desired rental date. If it happens to be less than two weeks or more than 4 business days from your desired rental date, there will be a $15 cancellation fee assessed to your card. You may not cancel your reservation once the item has been shipped out (or reserved for pick up during your rental time slot) from GPS4Rent.com warehouse/store front.

Under 2 weeks and more than 4 business days to reservation date - $15 fee
Item Shipped out (or reserved for pick up during your rental time slot ) - Cannot cancel rental and 100% of the rental fees will apply.
(14) VENUE:
Any judicial actions arising from our rental to you will be held in the appropriate court in Santa Clara County, California.
For Magellan RoadMate and Maestro GPS rental units model 360/700/760/800/860
1] Please make sure your vehicle have a clear view of the sky when using your
GPS rental unit, GPS will not function properly inside parking garages or
under parking structures, under bridge or between high rise building structures,
2] Make sure your GPS is mounted on the windshield or on top of your
dashboard.
3] Power up your rental GPS unit and let it go through the process. accept
the warning screen.
4] Make sure to flip up GPS antenna if there is a GPS antenna.
5] GPS unit may take 10 to 20 minutes initially to lock on the GPS signal,
this is normal since this is the first initialization and the GPS have to locate
the location of the GPS receiver which takes a some time initially.
6] DO NOT START PROGRAMING destination unit UNTIL GPS UNIT RECEIVE GPS
SATELLITE SIGNAL or all it does is slow down the process of acquiring GPS signal
7] DO NOT DRIVE (move) VEHICLE UNTIL UNIT RECEIVE GPS SIGNAL or it can also
delay the GPS acquisition time.
8] When GPS signal is obtain, the compass field background should be GREEN
9] Input address ONLY when you see the GPS have obtain signal and place the
GPS display showing the vehicle icon on the screen at your currently located.
10] Start driving after GPS is ready to navigate with to the address you have
inputted earlier.
Note: Some newer vehicles may have heat shielded windshields which may
require an external GPS antenna to function properly. These are consider GPS
limitations and only a few vehicle may have these issues. If you are renting a
vehicle, ask the rental company to substitute your vehicle for one without a heat
shield windshield if you wish to use the GPS unit without purchasing an additional
GPS antenna.
